I decided to take this natural disasters course because I am interested in actuarial science. This includes the study of casualty and property damage. I hope to take from this class an understanding of the causes of natural disasters, where they occur, how they are formed, and who they effect most. I also hope to learn how to best avoid, or at least mitigate, the effects of these natural hazards.
